Applying
How do I get started with volunteering with AACY®?
We welcome any individual interested in volunteering with us. We can't wait until you start! Applying to volunteer with us is easier if you already know what you would like to do, but we welcome those who just want to help in any way possible as well! Below is a mini checklist for initially applying:
* Look at our Activities page and think about how you would like to help!
* Download and fill out application on website.
* Send in application to AACY®.
* (If applicable) Send in fingerprints/have fingerprints processed
* Have initial interview with AACY® and orientation
What is the age restriction for volunteering?
We do have some age restrictions in place for the safety of our youth.
* Persons under the age of 15 may not volunteer with us in our office or one-on-one with youth. However, young volunteers may help with bigger, one time events.
* Persons aged 15 - 18 may help in the office or at one-time events.
* Persons aged 18+ are eligible to volunteer for all opportunities; depending on requirements and needs for the specific opportunity desired.
What if I'm a high school/college volunteer and I need the hours for a class?
We welcome students who need assigned hours! We have varying opportunities for you and we are happy to have you join us and complete any paperwork you need to substantiate your volunteer service.
Only an hour or two of your time can change a person's life!
